The challenge
What was at stake
An industrial organisation was facing its annual strategic planning. The obstacle was not a lack of information: it was too much information, too many perspectives and too many relevant decisions to resolve around a single table, in a single meeting, with the usual method.
In parallel, two other projects — an international People strategy and a transformation of educational methods — appeared to be different problems. They shared one underlying need: to think better before deciding.

The value was not in generating more ideas. It was in getting more alternatives, more challenge, better questions, greater clarity, better-founded decisions and — the hardest thing to get in any committee — real commitment to implementation.
